Love Month

It’s February you guys! Can you believe it??
We cannot!
This last month has flown by but it has been full of successes, joys, and laughter!
We have been able to look back at our goals and we are happy to say we are on the right path!

This month is a fun one!
I (Jen) have always loved February just because it’s a special reminder to love.
And I don’t just mean romantically! :)
It’s a great time to look around and see how we are doing at showing love.
Love for our families, friends, neighbors, and those we meet.
I personally love making sugar cookies smothered in icing and handing them out to friends.
I love buying all things Valentine’s at Target’s dollar section! (I know I’m not alone on this one!)
I love reminding others how much they mean to me.
Sidenote: we should always show love to all at all times, but it’s nice to have a whole month to be extra cutesy but not creepy! ;)

But let’s start of this week with a great quote by one of our favorites, Mother Teresa.

Growing up (Jen), my father had a portrait of Mother Teresa framed and sitting on his nightstand.
My siblings and I would always ask about her and my dad would tell us why she was one of his heroes.
He and my mother always reminded us of the amazing deeds she performed and told us that we should try to sacrifice a little to help someone.
I have always thought of this and have tried to do one good deed a day.
And sometimes it does feel like a large sacrifice in our busy days, but it has taught me what true love really is and how charity can change all of us.

My parents have always been an amazing example of charity to me.
If you know them then you know how wonderful they are!
They ALWAYS think of someone else before they think of themselves.
To be honest, I do not know how they do it, but I have always admired their attitude.

There is always someone who needs help, there is always someone that is longing for a listening ear or a tight hug.
I hope that I can find those who need me this month so that I can spread a little more love!

So this month, Tyler and I plan to do more than we did in January.
We plan to cuddle more.
Laugh more.
Serve more.
Love more.
Help more.
Enjoy more.
And care more.
