February is Black History Month and we absolutely love it!
Tyler and I are wanting to use this blog as a platform to speak about things that we find important and we would love to hear from you.
We know that everyone has a different opinion and we hope that we can eloquently express ours.

Since the moment I met Tyler, one thing that has always struck me is how open minded he is.
On top of that he is willing to stand up for the things that he believes, even if he does it quietly.
I, on the other hand, am more passionate than I am peaceful and so I tend to speak often about what I believe and how I feel about things. Which is great, BUT I am not always as eloquent as I wish I could be.
(Does anyone else feel like their heart leads their lives and sometimes it gets you in trouble? Hehe. Me too, me too.)
Being married to my sweet Tyler has taught me so much.
But one of the most important lessons I have learned is to be humble and to speak (or in my case, TRY to speak haha) with kindness and love.

Here is something else that I have learned: I can respect everyone’s opinions, but that does not mean that I have to agree with them.

The great thing about having the freedoms that we have is that we are free to share our opinions and to be who we want to be.
And I love that we are all so different and unique!
Tyler and I believe that we should celebrate the differences we have and marvel in our cultures.

So we are so glad that we have had a whole month dedicated to celebrating Black History!

Today’s quote is from The Black Panther.
Have you guys seen it?
This movie is a tremendous leap for our society!
A black superhero, an amazing black director, a black cast and crew … and not only that, but ladies, our power female voice is represented in the movie! Ryan Coogler (Director) made sure to emphasize the importance of women in his movie and within the crew!

We won’t say more so as to not spoil anything, but we encourage you to watch it!

AND the soundtrack is amazing!
Tyler and I both love Kendrick Lamar and he made some magic for this film!
This soundtrack has been playing nonstop in our house and car for the past couple of weeks.

Guys.
Celebrate with us as members of our society try to change stereotypes and traditions that have harmed us for so long.
Think of how amazing it is that children can now see a black superhero on the big screen.
How many barriers are we breaking?
We only hope that this can continue and that we can all make changes in our part of the world.

As a Latina who is very proud of her heritage, I fight daily for stereotypes to be broken.
And together with Tyler, we hope that we can make a change in our society.
Every voice is needed.
Every man, woman, and child is equal and unique and we must fight to ensure we can all live in freedom.
