Washington Thrift Finds
Happy Thursday everyone!
We are so excited for Thursdays and for sharing some fun thrift and antique finds!
We absolutely love thrifting and spending our days searching for those amazing finds!
There is something so special about being able to find clothes, decor, and trinkets for a steal.
And like the saying says, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
For us, thrifting and antiquing are a little different. Let us tell you how:
For the most part, thrifting can be cheaper. This all depends on the items you are looking to purchase. Tyler and I have had our eye out for an antique trunk/chest and we have had some trouble finding one that is within our price range, which leads us to our next point…
Antiquing takes a little more patience and research. We love going to new states and cities and checking out their antique stores. Sometimes smaller towns will sell AMAZING items for a lot cheaper. While it might take a little longer to find the perfect item, it is always worth it.
Thrifting is an amazing way to add decor to your home for very cheap! Some people give away the coolest stuff!
Antiquing allows for us to have a personal look into someone else’s life. I don’t know why but every time I go to an antique shop, I want to cry! (Jen speaking hehe.) I think of all the amazing history in a little shop and the people that once used these clothes and decorated their homes with these trinkets.
And sometimes thrift stores overwhelm us because they’re not quite set up for us to admire beautifully kept antiques, but rather we have to dig through what seems a lot of junk to find the good stuff. But this is an advantage! The deeper you dig and closer you look, the more likely you are to find something very cool!
Antique stores do have frugal options! And people who own antique stores are usually incredibly nice and will tell you all about their store and what cheaper options they have.
Both are incredible places to find items that will add life and uniqueness to your home!
Today we want to share some great finds we had in Bingen, Washington this last month!
The antique store we visited was Antiques & Oddities.
This antique store was gorgeous! It was HUGE and the selections were amazing.
We spent hours looking at absolutely everything! Nothing went unturned!
Remember how I said me and Ty have been looking for a trunk/chest? Well they had about 10 trunks that were beautiful! They were from the 1940’s and were a little too over our budget so we had to say no.
But in the future, we want to go back and pick one up!
So here is what we found:
Beatles Album “Let It Be” $20
3 thimbles $1/each
Cigar Box $2
Tyler and I often look for small trinkets and buy a lot of them so as to begin a collection, like with our thimbles (we also love collecting old keys!).
Cigar boxes are usually super cheap and they add a fun touch to a room!
And we couldn’t walk away from The Beatles album!
Guys, thrifting/antiquing is life!
We hope you guys will share with us your amazing antique and thrift finds @thewandryway.
And let us know what other tips you guys have for a successful thrift experience!
